Maryland Man Gets 10 Years For 3 Separate Kidnappings

WASHINGTON- Jesse Nunn, 24, of Maryland, was sentenced yesterday to 120 months in prison for his part in three separate kidnappings over the course of three weeks in Northwest Washington.

U.S. Attorney Jessie K. Liu, Timothy M. Dunham, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s Washington Field Office’s Criminal Division, and Peter Newsham, Chief of the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) made the announcement.

New Mexico Indian Affairs Department Announces Unique Partnership with Native Women Lead and the University of New Mexico Innovation Academy

SANTA FE, N.M. — The Indian Affairs Department on Sunday announces that the UNM Innovation Academy, and Native Women Lead (NWL) are working together to support Native American women businesses and entrepreneurs through a one-time appropriation. The project, led by NWL will host two convenings to bring together over 200 Native women entrepreneurs, and launch a directory for Native women entrepreneurs to connect to one another and access the res they need to start or grow their businesses.

Swiss University Gallen Combats Fraudulent Diplomas With Blockchain Technology

Switzerland based St. Gallen University is planning to use blockchain technology to combat fraudulent diplomas, which is seeing an increase in the past few years.

The University of St. Gallen has stated that it is launching a blockchain powered trial venture to validate the originality of its degrees in seconds, instead of several days.

Harald Rotter, CIO of the university, said

“I saw that it could be necessary and it could be a valid use case to transfer or to make easier to validate our diplomas based on a digital process on blockchain.”

The University of St. Gallen in Switzerland is setting its sights on blockchain technology to fight fake diplomas, a type of fraud that has been on the rise globally in recent years.
